On-Demand
(or Archive) Webcast—Create a Living Library
On-Demand or Archive Webcast is much like a taped television
program, something that can be seen over and over again.
While live audio and video webcasts offer immediacy to Internet
visitors, saving your content in the form of archived files
provides permanency. With archived content, prerecorded
events are digitized and then stored for viewing over the
Internet in an on demand capacity.

WebcastCenter provides On-Demand webcasting
in Windows Media, Real and QuickTime formats. In all cases
the media file is "streamed" to the player, thus
eliminating the need to download large size audio/video
files. The content usually starts playing within a few seconds
and it is continuously streamed from the media servers to
the players.
On-Demand content can range from simple audio
files to high quality broadband video files. Based on the
receiving computer's Internet connection rate, the quality
of the audio and video of the clip is constantly monitored
by the streaming media server and delivered accordingly.

Showcase for examples of On-Demand webcasting, in Windows
Media, Real or QuickTime formats.
Interested?
WebcastCenter recommends that if you are new into streaming
media, you start with simple On-Demand clips to test the
waters. Please call us at 814.342.3303 or send e-mail to
sales@webcastcenter.com
for pricing details. We will make it very simple and exciting
for you.
What's the Process?
After you have consulted with one of our experienced Account
Managers, you simply send us the media
to convert into streaming media format. You can choose between
Windows Media, Real or QuickTime, or any combination. We
will encode the clip, put it on our streaming media server
and send you the link with detailed instructions. Once you
link to the media file from your website, visitors to your
site will be able to see/hear the content without ever leaving
your website—it's that simple.
What's the Cost?
The cost is very much dependent on the length of the clip
as well as the quality of the output file. For example:
a 30 minute audio tape encoded at 16Kbps will be a lot cheaper
than a 30 minute video encoded at 300Kbps (broadband). Also,
if you choose more than one format (Windows Media, Real
and QuickTime), the cost would be higher.
There are many ways we can customize
the pricing for you, so please contact us. We will determine
your needs, consider your budget and then give you the best
prices in the industry.
There are two common pricing structures:
For the Starters:
This is where you pay WebcastCenter to do all the work for
you, from digitizing to hosting the streaming media content.
This option is good for an organization who's new into streaming
media and does not want to heavily invest in manpower and
equipment.
For the Professionals:
Under this option you basically create your own content
and place it on WebcastCenter's streaming media servers.
The payment is based on how much usage the media files generate.
We provide free usage analysis on a daily, weekly and monthly
basis.
Media
Types:
WebcastCenter can convert your content into streaming media
format from these sources: VHS, SVHS, BetacamSP, Mini DV,
DVD, Audio Tape, Audio CD, 8mm Video, AVI files, and some
International formats such as VHS PAL.
